IISER Pune Recruitment 2020: IISER Pune invites applications for Project Assistant and Fellow under DST funded project for the year 2020. The detailed eligibility and applying process further given below in the article.

Project Assistant/ Project Fellow (Junior Research Fellow)

Name of the Project: “Combination of Scandium triflate and diverse propargyl α-aryl-α-diazoacetates as novel catalyst-reagent system for the direct asymmetric site-selective C-H bond functionalization-An easy access to bioactive compounds”

Funding Agency Science & Engineering Research Board (SERB)- Department of Science & Technology (DST)

Minimum Educational Qualifications: M.Sc. in Chemistry or equivalent qualification with minimum 55% marks/equivalent grade. Preference Candidates with research experience in the field of organic synthesis and catalysis are highly preferable.

Tenure of the appointment Initially for a period of six months further extendable subject to satisfactory performance of incumbent and continuation of project

Consolidated emoluments 1) Project Assistant – Rs.19,840/- + 24% HRA per month 2) Project Fellow (Junior Research Fellow) – Rs. 31,000/- + 24% HRA per month based on valid CSIR/UGC-JRF/GATE/CSIR NET or equivalent scorecard.

Name of the Project “Quantum Information Technologies with ion-trap and optical-lattice devices”

Funding Agency Department of Science and Technology (DST)

Minimum Educational Qualification: M.E. / M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or any other equivalent degree in related discipline

Preference Candidates: 1. Having knowledge of design and development of precision mechanical components and systems; CAD and Cam; 2. Having know-how in Conceptualizing and designing mechanical components, 3. Performing mechanical Stress analysis, drafting 2D and 3D drawing, generating CNC machine-readable files, and 4. Having ability to liaise with machinists towards the end goal of producing a finished component for use in experiments on quantum information processing and laser cooling will be preferred.

Tenure of the appointment Initially for a period of one year which may be extended subject to continuation of the project and satisfactory performance of the incumbent.

Knowledge of design and development of Analog and Digital electronics, Programming and design of embedded control systems (Field Programmable Gate Arrays, Microcontrollers) 2. Proficiency in C++, Python, Lab view and Matlab; Design and development of Data Acquisition systems will be preferred.

Tenure of the appointment Initially for a period of one year which may be extended subject to continuation of the project and satisfactory performance of the incumbent.

Research Associate

Name of the Project “Quantum Information Technologies with ion-trap and optical-lattice devices”

Funding Agency Department of Science and Technology (DST)

Minimum educational Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics with a strong background in quantum information and computation.

Qualification: Candidates who have submitted thesis may also apply.

Preference Candidates having their Ph.D. in quantum information and computation, quantum dynamics, quantum chaos, Bose-Einstein condensates and related areas with good experience in both analytical and non-trivial numerical computations will be preferred.

Tenure of the appointment Initially for a period of one year which may be extended subject to continuation of the project and satisfactory performance of the incumbent.

Consolidated emoluments

  • 1) Rs. 47,000/- + 24% HRA to Rs. 54,000/- + 24% HRA per month depending upon the experience
  • 2) Candidates who have submitted their thesis but not completed defense (i.e. candidates without a provisional certificate of having qualified for the degree), will be designated as Senior Research Fellow (SRF) and paid Rs. 35,000/- + 24% HRA per month till the time of submission of Provisional Ph.D. certificate.

Age

  • 1) Research Associate (RA): Not more than 35 years as of the last date of application
  • 2) Senior Research Fellow (SRF): Not more than 32 years as on the last date of application
Research Associate

Name of the Project “Quantum Information Technologies with ion-trap and optical-lattice devices”

Funding Agency Department of Science and Technology (DST)

Minimum educational Qualifications: Ph.D. in Experimental Physics with a strong background in Photonics, Quantum optics, Atomic physics and Laser spectroscopy. Candidates who have submitted thesis may also apply.

Preference Candidates having their Ph.D. in the general area of experimental photonics or quantum optics or physics with ultracold atoms or precision measurements with atomic systems; good working knowledge of experimental techniques in handling/designing control systems, stable laser systems, UHV systems, and optical design will be preferred.

Tenure of the appointment Initially for a period of one year which may be extended subject to continuation of the project and satisfactory performance of the incumbent.

Consolidated emoluments

  • 1) Rs. 47,000/- + 24% HRA to Rs. 54,000/- + 24% HRA per month depending upon the experience
